The Small Wins

The Chair — The Small Wins

Life can feel overwhelming when it seems like everything is coming down at once. We see the size of the mountain in front of us, and the temptation is to either give up or try to move it all at once, and both roads end in failure. The truth is, the way forward is through small wins. You chip at the pile a little each day, and while it may feel slow, those steady strikes add up. One morning you’ll look back and realize how much you’ve already cleared, and the weight won’t seem so heavy anymore.

Think of it like a long road trip. At first, the road ahead looks endless. But then your mind drifts, and when you come back to the moment you realize you’re already halfway there. Progress happens quietly when you keep moving forward. The same goes for life’s problems, deal with them as they come, instead of letting them pile up around you. Because when a big boulder rolls into your path, you don’t want it crashing down on top of the old ones you refused to move.

Chipping away can feel boring, even discouraging. But it’s far better than ignoring the problems until you wake up buried under them, muttering, “Well… I’m screwed.” I know this from experience, I’ve done both. The wins may feel small, but they add up, and they save you from being crushed later. Start now. Chip away. Build your life one brick at a time, and you’ll be glad you did. Lesson and learn.
